CODE RED

INVIGORATE KIDS CHURCH

WHAT TO EXPECT:
CODE RED is the children's ministry of Invigorate Church. From start to finish, we strive to make your time with us a great experience. You will start by checking your child into our computerized database. This will help ensure the security of your child. Then, one of our CODE RED volunteers will walk you to where you drop off your child. Your child will be greeted and shown his or her room by one of our volunteers. All of our volunteers are background checked and trained to guarantee your child the best experience possible. During the worship experience, they will learn God's Word at levels appropriate for their age. We cater for ages 12 months - 7th grade every week.

THOUGHT FOR THE WEEK:

GOD IS THE POTTER OF THE CLAY. I AM BEING FORMED HIS WAY.

Parents:
Discuss with your child about times when life is out of our control.
For example, their bedtimes, when recess is over, or when someone gets laid off from a job.

For some people, being out of control is frustrating and others don't mind letting others take control for them. But we can always take comfort in knowing that God is ultimately in control of our lives.

Read Isaiah 64:8
God is like a potter. Even when we feel like our lives are out of control, He's shaping us into an image He has in mind so He can use us for His work. The Bible tells us God made us to be used in our own special way. God knows what's best for making us.
Discuss with your child what they think is a special "feature" God has made in them. (Make sure the features are positive such as their bright smile, a generous spirit, or a sharp mind)

God as the potter, is taking us, lumps of clay, and forming us into something useful and beautiful. But along the way we must go through stretching, molding, and other situations just like the clay.

Read James 1:2-4
God uses hard times to test us, to help us grow and to make us stronger. This helps make our relationship with God become stronger and we become more like Jesus. Just like the scripture says, we should have an attitude of joy when we go through these trials. God wants to test our faith in Him; He wants to develop perseverance in our lives; He wants us to be mature, complete, and not lacking in anything.

Takeaway:
Discuss with your child ways to have joy in their life even when they are going through a difficult time.
